This highly regarded research team provides extensive coverage across ASX-listed companies within the Resources, Materials and Energy sectors. On a daily basis, you will assist in performing valuations that underpin stock recommendations through detailed analysis, financial modelling, commodity market assessment and company and industry research. We are seeking two Research Associates who will be responsible for supporting the Resources and Energy equity research research team. You will assist in coordinating research activities, including compiling research for daily publications, updating financial and commodity models, maintaining industry databases, monitoring company and market news flow, and helping arrange various industry meetings. You will work closely with senior analysts on research projects, thematic research initiatives and institutional client requests. The successful candidates will assist in preparing presentations and marketing materials for a range of stakeholders, including institutional fund manager clients, listed company management teams and the internal institutional sales and trading teams. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models, valuation databases and sector datasets for stocks under coverage, while supporting the preparation of company, sector and thematic research reports. The role will also provide exposure to company meetings, industry conferences, site visits and interactions with corporates, investors and industry participants. Candidates with a combination of the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply: Bachelor’s degree or above in business, commerce, finance, accounting, geology, mining engineering, petroleum engineering, chemical engineering or a related discipline 2–7 years’ experience within equity research, corporate finance, valuations, investment banking, transaction services, funds management or a relevant mining, energy or resources-related discipline CFA or MBA qualifications viewed favourably, but not essential Strong analytical, financial modelling and Excel skills, with quantitative capabilities highly regarded Ability to analyse commodity markets, industry trends and company fundamentals Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced market environment Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills High levels of commercial awareness and intellectual curiosity Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills (written and spoken) would be viewed favourably, but are not essential.
